Tips for Fiber
»What is Modal?
- Modal is extracted from beech wood and is 100$% natural.
- Modal is also available in a micro variant. This extra fine fiber makes textiles even lighter. It feels like “skin on skin”.
- The fiber remains wonderfully soft even after repeated washing and retains its color brilliance.
- Chemicals and secondary product which occur during the production process are sold as valuable substance. One example of this is wood sugar which is further processed to sweeteners.

»What is long-staple cotton?
- It surpasses other cottons in softness, strength, and brilliance of color.
- Egyptian long-staple cotton is the very finest and longest cottons in the world.
- The long-staple length is longer than regular cotton. It increases softness and luster. Fewer fiber ends are exposed, minimizing the effects of abrasion resulting in less pilling.
- Because of the fineness of ong-staple cotton, more fibers can be spun into a yarn of a given count, which will enhance the feel and softness, drapeability and brilliance of color of a fabric.
»What is Pima cotton?
- Pima cotton is a generic name for extra-long staple (ELS) cotton grown in the USA, Australia, Israel, Peru and in very limited production in a few other locations around the world.
- Pima is from the gossypium barbadense species, compared to gossypium hirsutum to which upland cotton belongs.
The primary differences between Pima (ELS growths) cotton and upland cotton are staple length (fiber length) and strength of the fiber.
- In the world cotton trade, cotton is considered to be ELS or Pima if the staple length is 1 inch and 3/8 or longer. Its strength and uniformity measurements are considerably higher than those of upland cotton.
»What is COTTON USA?
- Because cotton pushed into the system is virtually indistinguishable from other growths, Cotton Council International (CCI) created a vehicle for identifying products made from U.S. cotton and “ingredient branding” those products through all stages of processing and marketing.
- This vehicle, the COTTON USA Mark, identifies and distinguishes superior products made from cotton grown in the USA, the world’s largest supplier of high quality cotton and the leading innovator in enhancing the performance of cotton products.
- The use of the COTTON USA Mark is limited to quality, 100 percent cotton products that contain at least 50 percent U.S. cotton.
